Practical workflows for service businesses

What an electrical contractor should verify before automated booking

Verify availability, service areas, appointment rules, confirmation, and fallback before automating booking.

Booking automation needs more than a list of time buttons. It must use a real schedule and rules that match the way your business assigns work.

Define what can be booked

Separate a consultation, an estimate, and a service visit. Decide which requests require office review before scheduling. Use accurate service durations, travel buffers, territory rules, and staff availability. A request form should say request until a real appointment is confirmed.

Use the real calendar

Connect the authorized calendar through its supported integration. Check the correct timezone, existing commitments, holidays, and rescheduling behavior. Test whether two requests can claim the same opening. Do not promise availability from a static demonstration.

Confirm the record and notification

Test with a clearly labeled identity. Verify the calendar entry, the CRM fields, the correct employee alert, and the customer's actual confirmation. Inspect cancellation and reminder behavior separately. A thank-you page alone does not prove any of these steps.

Define the fallback

If the calendar is unavailable, capture a request for a person to review. Explain that it is not a confirmed booking. Provide the business's actual contact method and avoid promising dispatch or a response time the team cannot maintain.
